Glycyrrhiza glabra L.

As the name suggests, liquorice root extract is the main ingredient in liquorice. Liquorice root is therefore added, at the end of the boil, to give a liquorice flavour. Mostly in dark beers but can also give a sweet liquorice note to blond beers.
