Malt extract liquid Muntons extra light 1.5 kg

Highly concentrated (80%), liquid, unhopped extract of the lightest available lager malt for extract brewing and mini-mash method. Carefully processed with the gentlest heat to ensure that the extract is the lightest possible.

• Colour: ≤8,0 EBC (in a 10% weight/volume solution)
  This means that the colour of the wort is less than or equal to 8 EBC when you dilute this malt extract with water to 15 litres. The density of the wort is then approximately 1.032 SG. This table provides an indication of the specific gravity (SG) and the colour when you use the extract for other volumes. This gives you the opportunity to dose this extract precisely in your own recipes.

Top tip:
May also be used as a substitute for malt (use 75% of the stated quantity) or sugar (replace 50-100% of the sugar with 125% malt extract).

What is malt extract?
Muntons canned malt extracts have been specially developed for the home brewing market. Filtered wort is thickened into a concentrated syrup using vacuum evaporation. The extract obtained by this method is a valuable source of fermentable sugars and, alongside natural colouring, gives the beer its traditional, rich malt flavour.
